Widow Certificate
A Widow Certificate is an official document issued by the Revenue Department or the competent authority certifying that a woman is the lawful widow of her deceased husband. The certificate serves as proof of widowhood and is commonly required for availing widow pension, family pension, compassionate appointments, insurance claims, succession of property, government welfare schemes, financial assistance, and other official purposes.
Eligibility
1. Applicant must be an Indian citizen.
2. Applicant must be the lawful widow of the deceased person.
3. The applicant’s husband must have passed away, and a valid Death Certificate must be available.
4. The applicant must provide proof of marriage and other supporting documents, where applicable.
5. The applicant must satisfy the eligibility criteria prescribed by the competent authority.
