Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana

The Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) is a Government of India life insurance scheme that provides life insurance coverage of ₹2,00,000 in the event of the insured person’s death due to any cause. It is a one-year renewable insurance scheme available to eligible savings bank and post office account holders. The annual premium is automatically deducted from the subscriber’s bank account through the auto-debit facility.

Eligibility

1. Applicant must be an Indian citizen.

2. Applicant must be 18 to 50 years of age at the time of enrolment.

3. Applicant must have an active savings bank or post office savings account.

4. Aadhaar should be linked with the bank account as the primary KYC document.

5. The applicant must provide consent for annual premium auto-debit.

6. The insurance cover can continue up to 55 years of age, subject to annual renewal and payment of the premium.

Submission of false information or forged documents may result in rejection of the application or claim and may attract legal action.
