Atal Pension Yojana
The Atal Pension Yojana (APY) is a Government of India pension scheme administered by the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA). It is primarily aimed at workers in the unorganized sector and provides a guaranteed monthly pension after the subscriber attains 60 years of age. Depending on the contribution made and the age of joining, subscribers can receive a guaranteed monthly pension of ₹1,000, ₹2,000, ₹3,000, ₹4,000, or ₹5,000.
Eligibility
1. Applicant must be an Indian citizen.
2. Applicant must be 18 to 40 years of age at the time of enrolment.
3. Applicant must have an active Savings Bank or Post Office Savings Account.
4. Aadhaar should be linked with the bank account for KYC purposes.
5. The subscriber must contribute regularly until attaining 60 years of age.
6. Income taxpayers are not eligible to join APY for enrolments made on or after 1 October 2022.
